RNAD Dean Hill

The OKLR has a selection of regauged RNAD Dean Hill wagons built by Charles. Roberts & Co. in the early 1940s. These types of wagons were used to transport munitions and general stores around military bases for the Royal Navy.

RAF Chilmark & RAF Fauld

RAF Chilmark & RAF Fauld

The OKLR has a large variety of Hudson RAF wagons that were formerly based at RAF Chilmark and RAF Fauld. These types of wagons were used for transporting bombs or stone from the quarrying of underground storage bunkers.

MOD Eastriggs

A small number of Hudson MOD Eastriggs Wagons are based at the OKLR. These wagons are notable as they previously ran with several of our Hunslet Locomotives and Ruston 20DL 'Susan'.

Hudson Skips

Hudson Skips

Robert Hudson Ltd. was a major producer of equipment for narrow gauge railways, producing everything from track to locomotives. One of their most common and well known products was the 'Rugga' side tipping wagon, typically referred to as simply the Hudson Skip.

Towards the end of the First World War, the American Expeditionary Forces (A.E.F.) placed a large order for narrow-gauge railway wagons to support military operations in France. Production was rapid, and the first shipment was ready by November 1917.
