Hudson Skips

Robert Hudson Ltd. was a major producer of equipment for narrow gauge railways, producing everything from track to locomotives. One of their most common and well known products was the 'Rugga' side tipping wagon, typically referred to as simply the Hudson Skip.

These skips were available in a large variety of sizes and track gauges and could be seen on nearly every narrow gauge railway in the country, being used for everything from road construction, mines, sewage works, brickworks and many more. The OKLR has four Rugga Skips of varying sizes based at the railway.
